Position Descriptions

Below are descriptions of the types of positions available at Valley Express/ Valley Logistics. Please see Current Openings to see what positions we are currently seeking to fill. Dispatcher: Phone and data communications with customers and drivers in a fast-paced environment. Maintain freight matrices, and all aspects of computerized dispatch. Must enjoy interacting with people to create and maintain a customer base.

Safety Director: Experience in transportation safety required. Ensures compliance with and monitors all files, logs, qualifications, and safety reports.

Safety Assistant: Maintains driver qualification files, driver orientation, log auditing, and fuel tax reporting. Experience in transportation safety preferred.

Accounting Manager : Requires a 4-year accounting degree and computer skills. CPA and experience in the trucking industry are preferred.

Accounts Payable: Balances customer and vendor statements, maintains accounts payable file, and general office duties. Two-year Business degree and 1 year accounts payable experience required.

Accounts Receivable: Enters daily deposits, makes A/R adjustments, claims, and collections. Computer and people skills a must. Two-year Business degree and 1 year accounts payable experience required.

Operations Manager: Manage dispatch operations of all offices, including customer and driver relations, customer rates tables and training dispatchers.

Warehouse & Yard: Light warehouse and yard maintenance, picking up and dropping off reefers in the FM area, forklift operation. Requires a commercial driver's license. Full and part-time positions.

Receptionist: Phone and data communications, invoice processing, data entry and inventory control. Should enjoy a fast-paced environment on a multi-line phone system. Two years experience preferred.

Independent Branch Manager: Secures and maintains a customer base for temperature control or dry shipments to be moved by our fleet of reefers or by outside logistics members. Will manage all aspects of freight coordination and computerized dispatch. Must be able to work independently, and have at least three years experience in transportation logistics field.

Logistics Coordinator: Provide a wide range of transportation services utilizing our advanced computerized business solutions. Must enjoy a fast paced environment and interacting with people.
